DUTOIT Celebrates Unity with SA Big5K 2020

It has undoubtedly been a very challenging year, and that is why it is even more important to find reasons, and the time, to celebrate corporate culture in a positive and uplifting way.

On Saturday, 7 November the South African Dutoit Group staff did exactly this.  The company decided to enter their staff for a virtual 5KM event.  Fitting, especially as their strapline is “Dedication always shows”.  We would affirm this, and add, dedication always shows up as their staff joined the event on a rainy Spring day!

96 Staff members and their families gathered virtually to complete a 5KM walk / run as part of the first annual SA BIG5K open charity event.  Staff participated wherever they found themselves on the day.  Some had the privilege of spending their exercise time among the apple trees in the orchards of the Dutoit Agri farms.

Dutoit staff holds a special place in the hearts of South African households, as they are the ones who plant, harvest, and pack the gorgeous, nutritious fruit and vegetables that are available on supermarket shelves, all across the country.

With the SA BIG5K, staff had the opportunity to celebrate their unity, their achievements, and their resilience during Covid-19.  Added benefits were teambuilding and being able to destress, with family and work friends, before taking on the silly season.

“We decided to support the SA BIG5K because the event resonated with us as a company.  We believe in working together in unity, supporting each other as a work family, giving back to the communities who support our business and celebrating our wins every chance we get.  SA BIG5K gave us that opportunity and our staff loved being part of it!”

Dutoit Group is a special and proudly South African company that hold their staff in high regard.  We are honoured that they chose the SA BIG5K to celebrate their company’s unity and achievements.  In SA BIG5K terms we want to say thank you to the Dutoit’s – for showing up, getting up and going BIG this November,” said SA BIG5K spearhead, Ian Swanepoel.
